LET THE CHILDREN PLAY is a local, family owned business that has grown out of the needs and experiences of raising our own three children as well as observing the emerging demands and trends of our extended family as they raise their brood – our nieces, nephews and now great nieces and great nephews. We have been inspired by our travels overseas with our children. Whilst exploring toy shops as diverse as the biggest in the world in New York and London, to the smallest in back streets of Malta, France and Germany, our eyes opened to the assortment of well designed and inspiring toys and games that are available across the globe.
As we watched our children engage more deeply with technology and the internet during their Primary School years (with our encouragement and most certainly following our example) we also found ourselves looking to a more traditional, nostalgic experience of our own childhood and desiring a better balance of tech and traditional play for them. With local toy retailers totally focused on licensed branding and cheap imports, we found ourselves recalling the joy our children found in toyshops overseas and the fine quality and unique designs we saw there in abundance. And so the idea of “let the children play” transpired and took over our lives.
